I saw an Instagram reel a few weeks ago (@chucksflavortrain) of someone making corn dog ribs, and I could not stop thinking about it. So I decided to try my hand at it today.
Fairly easy process overall:
Cook baby back ribs like you would normally do it.
Pull bones out.
Cut ribs into “riblets” where the bones were
Skewer “riblets”
Make corn dog batter
Dip
Fry at 350° until golden brown
I did not add any sauce to the ribs, just a dry rub (meat church-Honey Hog) and the “corn dog” was a bit dry. I did dip the corn dog into bbq sauce, and that helped a bit, but I think the batter left a little to be desired too, so I might try to find a different recipe next time. I used an allrecipes recipe for the batter.
Overall I’d rate them about a 6.5-7 out of 10. Fun, and easy enough to do on a lazy Sunday, but I’d change a few things next time.
Thanks for reading!
