I have three dogs and *all* of them love sardines. Fortunately the biggest one (100+ pounder) can be bought off with crackers dipped in the oil from the can.

My dude comes running every time, but I can’t actually give him any because he barfs them up EVERY time.
If he’s very insistent I’ll dip my finger in the oil and let him lick it off, but no consumption for him.

My family cat used to come running anytime she heard the faint echo of a tuna can opening. My dad would sometimes put the can down and let her eat the remnants and juice. RIP to my sweet girl ❤️ now I would do anything to have a kitty pestering me for tuna
