I found a sprat once that had an eye on the side of its body, like not where eyes should be. I tossed that bit and ate the rest of it.

The last time I ate something with the eyes that wasn’t loose in a soup, I named them and narrated a grand send off, thanking them for the meal. Complete with a 10 minute or so adventure.
In public. At a restaurant. Grown. My family can’t stand eating with me 🤣.
I would absolutely be terrified to be greeted by sudden eyes though in a tin, and a big chance I’d want to name him. I’d be sad, but out of respect, still somehow eat him.
