I took it out of the freezer last Monday, planned to make it Tuesday night but plans changed. Unfortunately I’ve been out of the house all week and am just now remember it exists. As you can see it’s still vacuum sealed, so I haven’t smelt it yet, but should I even bother?

The only way to know is to open it up and smell/feel it.

My rule is when in doubt, throw it out.
Food poisoning isn’t worth saving one cut of meat.

It should be perfectly fine! The color is good. Meat sealed like that and frozen will last much longer than you expect. As you mentioned, it is vacuum sealed and not exposed to any airborne bacteria

Smellit — otherwise, have someone else smellit

Looks okay to me, vacuum sealed…was it in the fridge or on the counter? Smell test it, and if your sense of smell sucks ask a friend and have them for dinner, London broil would be a shame to toss out.

If it’s been in the refrigerator this whole time it’s almost certainly fine.

I’ve left meat in vacuum bags in the fridge for a month intentionally to age it when the cuts would have lost too much moisture to dry age. Makes them super tender. Obviously if this smells bad don’t eat but 99% chance it’s fine.

I just recently learned the reason you’re supposed to remove food from vacuum packs to thaw is that botulism grows in an anaerobic environment. So the longer that meat has sat in the vacuum pack in a thawed state, the higher your chances of encountering botulism.

Don’t chance over 5 days plus the smell. IF your fridge is working properly.

I also vac seal meats and I don’t risk just cooking it without smelling first.

Slice the top off, smell it, let it air a bit, smell it again. That will let you know if it’s bad or not.

You’ll know a soon as you open it👃👃👃

If vacuum sealing it won’t keep it fresh for a week while refrigerated…then why the fuck are we vacuum sealing a friggen thing.

It’s London Broil…. You’ll still need to marinade it for a day.

Like the others say, smell it and cook throughly.

If not, you’re out $15… go get another one.

Yes, it’s good for 1-2 weeks. You should be fine. If you have a sous vide it will be even better yummy!

If its been in the fridge, yes. But the nose knows, you’re gonna have to smell it.
