Here’s a test for everybody. You have to feed 100 boys ages 13 to 14 years old. You only have $100 to spend and a grill. What do you do?

I’m thinking I’m buying a huge amount of ground beef and making smash burgers. Buns, butter, ground beef, and salt and pepper.

slow cooked pork butt is usually the best bang for your buck. but honestly I don’t know if you can get to enough food for 100 people with 100$. Best case scenario you get 70% yield from a pork butt. if were doing 1/3 Lb per person you’re looking at needing about 50lbs of uncooked pork. At 2$ an lb you’re already at 100$. You’re gonna want buns and some bbq sauce at least, and realistically 70% is never how much yield I get out of a shoulder, plus young boys can eat some serious food.

A cowboy stew. A stew is the best way to pack a lot calories into a small package. Grilling you lose a lot of the fat and renderings to the coals. This will keep all the calories in the pot plus they will get their protein, carb and vegetable servings.
