Johnny Marzetti Casserole

Rachel Marek. Prop Styling: Addelyn Evans

Who’s Johnny, and why are we inviting him to dinner? That’s the brother-in-law of Teresa, the owner of the Ohio institution Marzetti’s restaurant. “This casserole reminds me of dinners I had as a kid,” one home cook says—and that was actually the original audience. Soon after this pasta bake debuted on the Marzetti’s menu, students started flocking. Now that we’ve perfected a copycat recipe of this cheesy mac and beef feast, BHG fans from around the country are, too. Invest a mere 15 minutes of prep time and you have enough dinner to feed a crowd.

Fudgy Chocolate Dump Cake

Jason Donnelly

You’re wild about low-effort, high-reward recipes. And we are, too! So we keep testing and perfecting more so we can all spend less time fussing and more time feasting (and kicking our feet up after a long day). Asking for just 4 ingredients and 5 minutes of prep time, this boxed cake mix creation is ultra-fudgy thanks to one unexpected ingredient: instant chocolate pudding mix. The resulting dump cake is decadent and especially “excellent warm with ice cream,” a home cook raves. “Yum.”

5-Ingredient Lemon Dump Cake

Kelsey Hansen

Chocolate is always in season, but if your third most-saved recipe of 2025 is any indication, you’re so ready for spring. Same. Lemon pie filling acts as the foundation and ushers in the sweet-tart flavor. Boxed white cake mix—speckled with poppy seeds if you like—tops things off. (No need to even mix it; just sprinkle the dry cake mix on top!) The real star is hiding between those two lovely layers, if you ask one home baker: “I wouldn’t have thought to add cream cheese but it gave the finished dish a lemon cheesecake taste. I loved this cake!”

Slow Cooker Mississippi Pork Roast

Grant Webster

Ready to set and forget in just 15 minutes, this warm and cozy slow cooker recipe is so good,” according to a home cook who deems this “a repeat dinner for us.” The original rendition of this viral recipe centers around beef pot roast, but we’re particularly fond of this pork roast riff. Sear it first to caramelize the exterior and amp up the flavor, then slow cook it with pepperoncini brine and a couple packets of seasoning mix. (Ranch fans, this one’s for you!) Incredible on its own and even better served atop mashed potatoes or polenta, this succulent roast is layered with so much tangy, savory, herbaceous flavor, no one will ever guess it is made with just 4 ingredients.

Cowboy Potatoes

Jacob Fox

You need not own a sturdy pair of boots or a big hat to lasso in—and fall in love with—this easy side dish. Essentially roasted potato nachos with a Texas accent, “these potatoes are delicious! I loved every bite,” a home cook who tried them wrote to tell us.  I will absolutely make this recipe again and again.” The barbecue sauce, cheddar, sour cream, and jalapeños stack on the flavor, but the real kicker comes from the pork. The spuds are tossed with bacon grease and topped with crumbled bacon.

Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole

Rachel Marek. Prop Styling: Gabe Greco

Classic chicken Parmesan—complete with a crispy fried chicken breast, chunky marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella cheese is such a treat. It’s also quite a task to bring to the table. To help you enjoy all the same flavors in a streamlined way that’s effortless enough to execute on a weeknight, we dreamed up this dump and bake dish. This is a truly one-pan meal, “so prep and clean up are a breeze,” a fan confirms. Add dried pasta, jarred marinara, water, and diced uncooked raw chicken breast (trust the process!) to a baking dish, stir, and the chicken preps itself. Fold in cheesy bread crumbs and extra cheese, bake for a bit more, and dive in.

Test Kitchen Tip: Don’t feel like tossing together a salad? Add the veggie side dish to your main by adding sliced mushrooms, chopped fresh spinach or kale, or leftover roasted vegetables.

4-Ingredient Cloud Eggs

Hannah Bigot

With origins dating back to the 1960s, this low-carb egg recipe is having a renaissance in the past 2 years. They might look finicky, but they’re actually a breeze to make. Whip up egg whites to act as the “nest,” fold in your desired mix-ins, par-bake in cloud-like mound shapes, then top with the yolk. Garnish as desired and enjoy on top of toast and alongside a fruit salad for a well-balanced breakfast.

Marry Me Chicken Soup

Rachel Marek. Prop Styling: Addelyn Evans

Tasty and tempting enough to inspire marriage proposals, the original Marry Me Chicken recipe is swoon-worthy. Still, when the weather is chilly, we prefer to spoon with this savory soup recipe that features similar elements: sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, and garlic—plus cream cheese and pasta for even more to love. “The flavor is out of this world,” a home cook says of this rotisserie chicken remix. “My family enjoyed this soup a lot!”

Dump and Bake Chicken Alfredo

Rachel Marek

When we polled our staff members about their go-to Olive Garden order, the salad and chicken Alfredo came out on top. Why reserve that creamy pasta recipe for restaurant meals alone? We pay tribute to the OG Alfredo with this casserole that’s as easy as 1 (mix chicken broth, jarred Alfredo sauce, dried pasta, and chicken), 2 (bake), 3 (top with shredded cheese and broil). The finished product is delicious yet rich, so we recommend serving it with fresh parsley and lemon wedges to squeeze on top to brighten things up.

Italian Wedding Soup

Carson Downing

Even though this entire homemade soup recipe takes a mere 1 hour, including from-scratch meatballs and simmer time, the flavors of this soup marry so well together. They might as well be wedded! The pesto-infused broth and pasta are terrific, but the standout element is the cheesy sun-dried tomato-studded chicken meatballs. “I cannot even tell you how delicious the meatballs were! They have soooo much flavor. I am going to make that my go-to meatball recipe for everything. The rest of the soup is very simple but has so much flavor,” a home cook confirms. “Very fresh and delicious soup.”
