I tried Jeni's ice cream for the first time. I've never bought a more expensive brand like this – usually I go for private selection, haagen dazs, or Ben and Jerry's and only buy ice cream on a sale. So I never intended to spend $8 on a pint from Jeni's but my store suddenly had it on the shelf and I got tempted cause of you guys raving about it here…and I don't regret it at all.
The actual ice cream is really creamy and smooth, high quality for sure. No unnecessary amount of air or gummy texture. This is what I'd expect from an in-person shop that makes their ice cream in-house.
The base is cream cheese flavored. And I mean distinctly cream cheese, I could definitely tell this apart from cheesecake I've cream. It's satisfying and rich cause it's heavy on the cream cheese flavor, but since it's a bit less sweet than a usual vanilla or cheesecake ice cream, it's hard to put down and isn't cloying. It's totally unique to me.
Then the vanilla cake pieces, they're just the right size as you can see and they're soft, not dry or mushy whatsoever and the flavor is nice. There's lots of them and it doesn't clash or overshadow the base flavor, it's a nice texture addition.
The caramel-butterscotch swirl is reallyyy good. It leans more towards butterscotch than caramel and is salty & sweet which makes a great pair with the salty & sweet cream cheese base. There's plenty of it well distributed throughout and it doesn't freeze up hard or anything like that.
10/10, no notes. It's not justifiable for me to get such an expensive ice cream often, but this is well worth it for a once in a while treat, it seriously delivers and is unique. You're not gonna find an ice cream just like this with these flavors in every other brand.

One of the best flavors EVER
Respectfully disagree. Personally, I felt like I was eating a stick of butter when I was eating this flavor!
As the person who worked for the original ooey gooey butter cake, it does not
Respectfully also disagree. Second least favorite Jeni’s. All I taste is sweet.
I like this, but Ample Hills makes an Ooey Gooey Butter cake ice cream that is SO DAMN GOOD that I was sort of disappointed by this one. AH uses butter cake pieces rather than vanilla and it’s sooo chewy and delicious.
I worked at a Jenis years ago. The best part about this flavor was what remained at the bottom of the containers we scooped from. Imagine several inches of caramel goo. I’d take it home in to go bowls.
This is not what mine looked like at ALL… is Jeni’s wildly different from pint to pint on mix-ins?
Because i don’t even think mine had as many cake pieces in the entire pint as yours has in the photo. I thought this one was a boring rip-off.
One of their BrambleBerry Crisp Pints was absent of nearly all the mix-ins too, I just decided that they didn’t have any taste or quality and ditched Jenis. Does it always vary THAT much?
Omg I just tried this for the first time yesterday and was about to post a review! It was sooo good. Can’t wait to finish my other half tonight.
This is one of my top 3 Jeni’s flavors. I only eat ice cream like once a week so I don’t mind spending 6-8 dollars for a pint of ultra premium ice cream.
The first time I got one of these all of the sauce was at the *top* of my pint? 😂 I don’t know if thats intended but I was having a real good day digging through 2 inches of it
It’s amazing mixed with Tillamook strawberry
why must the ruin everything with cream cheese
My favorite Jeni’s out of the ones I’ve tried so far, it’s so good
