Cafe Alma, the three-year-old Mediterranean restaurant in Pleasant Ridge, will start offering dinner service next month.
“We’ve been thinking about this for a LONG time, and NOW felt like the right moment,” a recent Facebook post read. “We have an incredible team, and we feel confident they will lead us into dinner service full steam ahead.”
Husband and wife team Lainey and Yair Richler opened Cafe Alma in 2022 as a breakfast and lunch spot serving four varieties of shakshuka, halva and banana pancakes, vegetarian lasagna, salmon picatta and a Montreal bagel platter.
The cafe’s healthy Mediterranean fare led me to include it on my list of the best new restaurants of 2022 along with other newcomers such as Nolia Kitchen, Tuba Baking Co. and Crown Cantina.
According to the post, the menu will remain largely the same, though more dinner options will be available. “The goal is to be a ‘cafe all day,'” the post read. The new hours for Cafe Alma will be 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. The Richlers said they will provide a definitive date for their new dinner service at the beginning of March.
