If you’re itching to get out of town, you might consider driving to La Union for La Viña Winery’s Spring Wine Festival.
La Viña Winery, one of the oldest wineries in New Mexico, stands off Old Highway 28. The winery highlights its wines, vendors and live music each spring by hosting a festival.
This spring, La Viña Winery will host its annual wine festival from noon to 7 p.m. daily on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27. More than 60 food and arts vendors will be present, and three bands will perform live each day.
Adult admission to the festival is $25 for those aged 21 and over. A ticket includes a souvenir glass with a choice of five tastes or a full glass of wine. Over 20 wines will be available for tasting and purchase.
Guests 12 to 20 years of age pay a $10 admission charge, and guests 11 and under are admitted free of charge.
Tickets will be sold at the gate only. No outside food, alcohol or pets are allowed.
La Viña Winery is located at 4201 S. Highway NM-28, La Union. The tasting room is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
