    Most cans have a plastic liner. I have a cast iron chicken holder with a beer reservoir that I got from Amazon awhile ago. I used it once.

    Prevents the inside of the chicken from hitting the proper temps… gimmicky and a good way to get sick.

    Thank you all for your advice. I haven’t ever done beer can chicken, so I wanted to try something new. Will definitely be trying spatchcock for the next time.

    If you want a beer flavor spritz them with it as other said this does nothing.
