Just double checking to see if the odd spacing between the petals is ok? I’m sure before I’ve had them tightly locked together, perhaps the metal ring has warped slightly?

Following…I have similar spacing with mine as well.

Yes. Usually you even out the spacing more between all the panels but they don’t fit tightly for expansion when heated.

Normal unless you have OCD–then try to even out the gaps between all 5 pieces.

It will work but it’s not okay. There should be an even space between the wall and the metal ring. The fire box pieces need to be fully aligned and placed under the ring in order to achieve this. The fire box is leaning against the back wall of the BBQ. this is not ideal.
