The dango at Mount Takao comes in original, sesame, and walnut flavors—you can enjoy them all the way from the base of the mountain to the top.

Lovely photo and lovely Dango! Is the walnut flavour done with walnut miso?

What’s the original flavor like? Teriyaki?

  3. Fun dango fact, also relevant because there is a lovely monkey park on Mt. Takao where you can see this in action:

When Japanese monkeys (Japanese macaques) get cold, they huddle very close together in a group for warmth. When they’re in their closely huddled group formation, it’s called a “sarudango” – “saru” being monkey, “dango” being dango of course. I just think it’s the cutest term! A monkey dumpling.
