The most popular style are the Albarinos with their zesty aroma and crisp acidity, but if you are a Marlborough fan, the closest to them are the Verdejos. The white Riojas tend towards a level of creaminess that is unique to the style and for chardonnay lovers, your first Spanish choice should be the rich Godellos. See, something for everyone.
Val Do Galir Godello, Galicia
A floral nose with interesting hints of herbs leading into a full bodied palate, the result of aging the wine on the lees. The finish is long and I detected hints of peaches. All in all, a cracking wine with enough difference from anything else to impress the neighbours with your choice.

Martin Codax Albarino, Rias Baixas
I’ve never had a wine with a nose like a great seaside memory before but this is it. I don’t know how else to describe my enjoyment of the aroma but the palate was equally as good with citrus and white peach flavours and a fresh acidic finish.
