CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A cooking mix used for breading and battering food was recalled in multiple states, including Ohio, after a customer reported falling ill after consuming it.
The Food and Drug Administration announced on May 29 that Homegrown Family Foods issued a recall for 6-ounce boxes of Shore Lunch Oven Style Breader & Batter Mix due to the inclusion of an undeclared ingredient and allergen, milk.
The report said that one person reported falling ill after consuming the product, but had recovered by the time the recall was issued.
The product was distributed to 10 states, including Ohio, between April of 2024 and May of 2025.
