Fairfax, V.A. (7News) — Bisnonna Bakeshop owner Nicole Liberatore joined Good Morning Washington to discuss what Italian desserts the Fairfax bakeshop offers.
Liberatore brought a taste of Italy to the studio with a cornucopia of Italian desserts. She also demonstrated how to properly fill a cannoli, grandma style.
“Bisnonna” translates to great-grandmother in Italian, contributing to the store namesake from Liberatore’s great-grandmother. Liberatore learned traditional Italian family recipes passed down from generation to generation, mother to daughter.
“Bisnonna means great grandmother, but it also means taking care of the people you love through baking.”
Liberatore started to share the baked goods with friends, leading her and her husband to sell them out of a church parking lot in her car. After popularity, the couple finally opened a storefront and bakery in Fairfax.
