A Kentucky-based steakhouse chain is now the biggest casual-dining spot in the United States.
Texas Roadhouse dethroned longtime leader Olive Garden as the restaurant chain with the highest number of systemwide sales, Restaurant Business reported, citing data from Technomic.
Sales for the 664-unit steakhouse chain rose 14.7% last year, reaching $5.5 billion. Texas Roadhouse also opened 26 new locations in 2024, a 4.1% change.
Olive Garden, which has held the top spot since 2018, grossed just under $5.2 billion in sales last year. The chain also opened 15 new restaurants, an increase of 1.7%.
There are five Texas Roadhouse locations and nine Olive Garden locations in Massachusetts, according to each chain’s website.
The other restaurant chains in the Top 10 were Chili’s, Applebee’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, LongHorn Steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse, The Cheesecake Factory, Red Lobster and Red Robin.
