I would make Sloppy Joes.

I’ve used it for tacos actually but added my own blend of seasoning to make it more tex-mex

Purple Carrot has a jackfruit gyros recipe it’s great
Remote_Leather8590
I would recommend buying a can of Jack fruit and bbq sauce. Might be cheaper too, I wouldn’t reccomend that upton stuff.

It’s fine, but way better to make your own if you have a favorite barbecue sauce. My wife likes a bourbon sauce that is awesome.
The only problem is, nutritionally, jackfruit is kind of a waste of time. It’s got a bunch of vitamins and minerals, nice protein *when compared to other fruits*, but when used as a meat substitute it’s pretty devoid of substance.
I think it’s best when added into other things. It goes great in Seitan barbecue ribs, mix it into the dough and it gives the ribs a cool flaky meat texture.
If I was going to eat it on a sandwich I would do a spicy chickn patty, top it with barbecue jackfruit and coleslaw.
Palchez
On top of a waffle with vinegar slaw and Mac n cheese.
girafffffffe
seeing how much sodium was in this and that it was only the flesh, I opted to buy fresh and make my own with the actual meat of the jackfruit. Froze a bunch and was way cheaper.
UnrealSquare
I really did not appreciate the flavor of this stuff.
Prefer to buy a few cans of the Trader Joe’s canned jackfruit and a bottle of the Korean bbq sauce (or whatever your favorite sauce is). Put that all in a crockpot with a diced bell pepper and some diced onion and you’re in a good place a few hours later. Crush up the bigger jackfruit pieces with a potato masher and serve on buns with slaw.

Only because I’m allergic apparently to jackfruit
ErolJenkins
Heat it

I leave it on the shelf because it doesn’t taste like pork barbecue. I get that for some people that’s an advantage, but not what I’m looking for. I get the Barvecue “pulled pork” instead and love it in a sandwich.
