Wendy’s in Canada updated their Taco Salad recipe starting November 12, 2024. The new version replaces the original tortilla chips with crispy chili lime tortilla strips, adds fire-roasted corn, and swaps the salsa dressing for a creamy zesty salsa dressing. The core ingredients—romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and Wendy’s chili—remain unchanged.

my name is Jesse and today I’m reviewing the taco salad from Wendy’s i’ve done it before but they changed the recipe this is plan B we’ll talk hey everyone welcome back to Just Food Reviews plan B okay so plan A was uh 7-Eleven came out with this new jalapeno cheese pizza so I wanted to try it but I also wanted to pick up the uh egg salad sandwich so I can compare the Canadian egg salad sandwich with the 7-Eleven Japan egg salad sandwich which was pretty good not as good as the Lawson one but it was pretty good so go there like “Hey man you got this new I didn’t I couldn’t see it on the shelves you got this new jalapeno cheese pizza.” He’s like “No man.” He’s like “It didn’t sell very good we don’t have it and I don’t think it’s coming back.” I’m like “Ah.” So I should have just maybe just did the egg salad sandwich to do the comparison but usually how it goes is when I don’t get the item I want I usually just storm out and go somewhere else so that’s what I did today maybe I’ll still get to the egg salad sandwich but plan B uh one of my subscribers was like on the uh Wendy’s taco salad that’s what we’re doing today so I already did this before and one of my subscribers went on that video and was like “Hey man did you know that they changed the recipe it’s completely different now.” I’m like “Really?” So I asked Grock and this is what Grock has to say uh Wendy’s in Canada updated their taco salad recipe starting November 12th 2024 so about 6 or 7 months ago so not that long ago they changed the recipe uh the new version replaces the original tortilla chips with crispy chili lime tortilla chips okay chili lime tortilla chips uh adding fire roasted corn oh wow okay uh and swaps the salsa dressing for a creamy zesty salsa dressing that is that is a big change okay so they got rid of the salsa dressing and added the creamy zesty uh creamy zesty salsa dressing that that’s a major change okay uh the core ingredients romaine lettuce diced tomatoes shredded cheddar cheese and Wendy’s chili Wendy’s chili remain unchanged okay so it’s Yeah they added corn they added chili lime tortilla chips and they added a new dressing so that’s a big deal and the of course the chili’s in there and I’m wearing a white shirt and I smashed it last time okay price wasn’t cheap either whoa how much was this thing yeah $10.99 came to 1155 with tax so almost 12 bucks for a salad a salad should be six bucks tops may maybe seven bucks if it has egg i’m sorry I’m yelling i’m just fired everything fell apart this morning okay wendy’s napkins it’s nice and soft but it’s weak it’s almost seems like a different Wendy’s napkin i don’t know four 4.5 out of 10 all right there’s a lot going on here okay there’s the chili medium salsa that looks like medium salsa that’s not a new dressing sour cream [Applause] tortilla chip like there’s nothing different about this [Applause] okay we’re doing a re-review of the old taco salad it hasn’t changed at all this is medium salsa which is is not a new salsa dip these are tortilla chips they’re not a chili lime tortilla chips nothing has changed about this salad so I’m doing a re-review of an item I already smashed let’s go the wooden fork out of here okay i don’t know my subscriber even said it’s a new recipe but nothing about this is like this is just salsa i have a feeling my day is about to get a lot worse a dollop of sour cream [Applause] did I throw the lid i got to grab the lid okay it is a fairly big salad for 10 bucks but seal it up this isn’t going to seal properly i know it okay that kind of sealed pretty good [Applause] oh this day man my first day off too all right we’ll cut it in half to a zoom in adventure all right there’s the tortilla chips there’s the lettuce there’s the chili there’s the beans uh you can see there’s the cheese down there i don’t know where the sour cream went you saw me put it in there certainly I’m not seeing any corn at all uh yeah this is the same old salad cross-section cross-section all right we’ll try it out again found the sour cream didn’t mix very well oh no but what does it matter yeah it’s uh I’m getting no no burn at all it’s not spicy um there’s the salsa in there the chili it’s it’s it’s an okay salad it’s not it’s not a terrible salad um I want a little bit of spice the taco salad i want a little bit of spice i’d like a little bit more cheese in there uh I really wanted to try this new dressing that that made it sound kind of a little bit exciting uh if you bought this it would fill you up but it is it’s a salad that’s over 10 bucks the Wendy’s chili it they do have a not bad chili uh that’s pretty much what you taste here it’s it’s Wendy’s chili with lettuce is is what you’re tasting and a little bit of the sour cream um it’s an okay taco salad it’s where am I going to go here it It’s a little It’s a little bit better than average i’ll give it a six out of 10 it’s just It’s not going to change i don’t know what I gave it last time but it’s an It’s an okay taco salad if you like the Wendy’s chili you’ll like this i do like the Wendy’s chili but that’s all you can taste you’re not getting any like Woo there’s no corn this day man [Music] it’s not like the pizza would have been any better pizzas are still a terrible smash too not Not that I’m saying it would have been a smash but who thanks Wendy okay the Wendy’s taco salad is not a new recipe it’s It’s the same taco salad i don’t know what Grock was talking about maybe there’s a Canada Wyoming or something like a little town in in the States somewhere named Canada and maybe they changed the recipe there it’s definitely not changed here it’s the same salsa it’s the same tortilla strips uh it’s not the chili or tortilla strips and what it’s the same dressing it’s just the medium salsa 6 out of 10 not happy with this at all see you next time [Music] [Music]
