Buddy mine and I trade boxes of weird seasonings, sauces and general oddball BBQ stuff each of us find couple times a year. This bottle of Dale’s Steak Seasoning Marinade was sent my way and I tried it out few nights ago.
This is Awesome! It’s simply a soy sauce base with sugar and spices.
Was cooking for just myself other night. Used it on one them 1lb NY Strips from Costco. Did a reverse sear….
For marinade—put steak in a pie plate, poured enough Dale’s over it get bout 1/4” in the plate. Added garlic powder and black pepper. Let that sit on counter for 15 minutes, flipped, G+P second side. 15 minutes flipped, then again 15 mins flipped (hour total just season first part).
Did reverse sear on Traeger, 225 took an hour get to 110. Meanwhile, had the Genesis preheated to 475. Seared, turned, flip, turned, etc maybe 4 minute intervals got an excellent texture on outside.
The sugars and soy caramelized. Nice juicy bloody smoky steak!!!
And to note—usually only eat half a steak that big, had the leftovers for a steak sandwich today…was Awesome!!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

Been using Dales for YEARS. I’ll never use a different marinade. I love it with chicken thighs too. Also, I sauté mushrooms and onions in a pan and put a little Dales in there too, and then top my steak with it. Delicious every time.

I’ve used it a long time. It’s a good binder for rub too

From the Dale’s Steak House in Florence, Alabama. Bottled in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve put that stuff on everything from steaks to veggies for over 30 yrs now. It’s good stuff.

I’ve got 4 bottles on a shelf I bought at least 10 years ago. There’s so much salt & vinegar it’ll never go bad.

My neighbors introduced me to Dale’s a few years ago. I’ll never use anything else. I love marinating thick cut pork chops in it and grilling them.

A butcher shop in my hometown introduced me to Dale’s 30 years ago. I couldn’t find it when I first moved to the Midwest but it’s here now!!

The only thing I can suggest is be careful with Dales and if you use a salt forward seasoning. It can be too much but it is very delicious! Especially with some onions and mushrooms!
