  1. How do you actually call them in Russia?

    In Switzerland this kind of pastry (although it’s typically quite a bit smaller) is called “Prussiens” (French for “Prussians”), which intrestingly enough isn’t how the French (or the Germans) call them. So we use a French name referring to a former part of Germany, despite the French apparently don’t use that name for the same thing…

    In Germany they’re apparently called “Schweineohren” (= pig ears)
