had the boys over for the fights last night. tried chicken thighs this last week and decided to give the tri tip a shot(2nd time doing any smoking/bbqing)

how'd I do? put the traeger to 225, added the tri tip and let it sit until it temped at 120. then pan seared it on both sides and put it in the oven until it hit 135.

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

Looks great friend, but you tell us! How *did* you do? Was it as mouth watering as it looks?

Try smoking one like a brisket. It’s like a mini brisket for like 2 people. Wrap in foil with butter.

Tips for you: with tri-tip, you should let it rest for a bit longer, especially if you reverse sear. Also, when you slice it always slice against the grain. The grain will change around the “middle tip”

  5. This is my go-to for tri-tip but I pull it at 120, not 125 IT at the end. I’ve noticed pulling it at 125 as he does makes it more medium than medium rare. Malcom Reed is my BBQ guru and I look him up whenever I wanna try something new on the smoker.
