So there was no recipe I could find. So what i did was bind with mustard, then used Traegers pork and poultry rub (use your favorite, i just had pork and poultry on hand), after that, smoked till 160f

Correct me if I’m wrong, but salt pork was literally the recipe. You take some pork, or any meat really, and throw it in a big barrel of salt. The salt draws the moisture and preserves the meat. Then you can take it on voyages across the sea and have something edible for months
