On July 12, license plate readers alerted police to a vehicle connected to a known shoplifter in the Irvine area. Shortly after, workers at a Pavilion’s grocery called police to report that a woman was seen running out of the market with almost $1,000 worth of wine bottles.

Officers later tracked the woman down at a nearby Target store where she was reportedly caught swapping price tags on merchandise.
