As someone who adores a good caprese, there is a tragic lack of basil on these.

Just delete this before others see it OP. You still have time cause this is ridiculous.

    Cheese:tomato:basil:glaze ratios are insane.

It looked nice to me for 2 seconds until I realized what it was supposed to be.

I wish we could collectively lay off the balsamic glaze. It’s almost always used where it doesn’t need to be, and in much, much larger quantities than it should be in the first place. Just because it comes in a squirt bottle doesn’t mean you need to squeeze it so hard and for so long. And for the amount of tomatoes and cheese, there could maybe be a bit more basil, or another fresh herb in contrast. Maybe even some flaky salt and/or freshly-ground pepper.

And I know this is a ‘plating’ sub, and not something we can taste, but tomatoes are usually on the acidic side already – they don’t need all the vinegar we see way too often. If anything, a light drizzle of good olive oil would suffice. And not to keep nitpicking, but the tomato:cheese ratio seems like there should be more tomato, or maybe less cheese.

Just my two cents. Sorry if it comes off as rude/condescending, but that certainly wasn’t the intent.

I love balsamic glaze! A little crostini on the side perhaps. I’d smash.

No notes. Would be cute to end with a matching desert of vanilla ice cream, sliced strawberries, pistachios, and a chocolate drizzle.

A little lighter on the glaze and a touch higher on the basil. If you can’t get good basil or tomato late in the season like me, this is fine, just don’t hide it under the glaze. Hopefully it’s many years aged balsamic to hide the sin of shitty tomato and basil. Cheers.

Ps. I like the perspective of the photo. It’s better than top down.

I would like to ask if the tomato and mozzarella are ok in this disaster. Good god man put down the squeeze bottle

Would you like some cheese with your vinegar sir?

  11. Chefmeatball

You clearly didn’t like any of your ingredients to drown them in that much redux

Looks like classic sysco bullshit on a stupid square plate
