Does anyone have a hot sauce that they always default back to after trying dozens of others 🤎 love this stuff.

    OG Tabasco is always a good standard. But I default to the habanero Tabasco. I buy that stuff by the half gallon.

    I always default to Cholula, original or green. Not very spicy but delicious

    Tabasco tastes like shit. I’ve always said their marketing department had to be amazing to convince so many restaurants that this is what hot sauce is.

    The tobasco bottles we have in our supermarkets here are like one quarter the size and three times the price.

    I think I’m going to have to find some niche sauce at this rate lol

  9. Tabasco is for nostalgia – nothing else goes on chili mac. My home staple is probably Secret Aardvark, though.

  10. Sriracha sauce is default. Decently hot and never steals the show.

    Loved Franks Red Hot for over 30 years. The first time I tried it was at a pizza chain here in Canada called Panagopolous. They offered it as a dip for pizza. Then when it was available at the grocery store I started buying it all the time.

    Louisiana. I know most people want their tongue to implode inside their skull from the absolute heat of their hot sauce, and Louisiana isn’t hot enough for most, but I grew up eating it and I can’t get enough of the flavor. It’s amazing in gumbo.

    After a few years of buying almost every boutique hot sauce I could find, I realized that all I really need is tapatio on almost everything and Tabasco garlic for the rest.

    My go to for a general purpose hot sauce is
    TryMe Yucatan Sunshine Habenero . Not the hottest one but damn tasty 😋
    I’m also partial to Secret Aardvark Habanero Sauce. Always a good choice.

  18. Yep, El Yucateco XXXtra Hot, Secret Aardvark, and the new Cholula Extra Hot.

    There’s plenty of others I really like, but I would be happy with those three.

    Frank’s is the OG for me. Cholula is a real really close second.

  21. I love a nice specialty hot sauce, but honestly I feel like many of them have too much flavor to pair well with a majority of dishes. Not too much heat mind you, just quite literally too much flavor. Like you’ll read the ingredient list and see that it has blueberries, cantalope, guava and pineapple. While it tastes good on its own and I’m sure I could find a some foods I’m sure it’ll pair nicely with, I can’t just throw it on some eggs without it tasting like a fruit salad.

    That’s why I almost always end up defaulting back to Tabasco and Yucateco XXXtra hot. Tabasco when I want to add a little spice and acid, and Yucateco when I’m looking for something a little more pepper forward.
