Essentially the grill states it’s 350, the ambient reading on my wireless thermometer states around 230. I left the metal probe that comes with the grill kind of sitting along the grill next to the meat and the probe is reading around 240.

It’s not super cold out. Maybe 40 degrees. I haven’t been opening the smoker much aside from when I tried my metal probe experiment.

I just recently got a Pro 34 series and I am new to smoking, but not new to cooking.

Any idea what’s going on? I’m inclined to believe the probes, not the Traeger display. Does this mean I’ll need to put it around 100 degrees hotter than what I want whenever I smoke something? If so, I doubt I’ll be able to sear anything on this, Since it only goes to 450.

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!
