On this day last year my then fiancé- now husband, decided to do dry January. I was sad to lose my drinking buddy, but wanted to be supportive so I stopped with him. I drank everyday for like 15 years and after a few weeks of not drinking I noticed how much better i felt. Kept dry Jan rolling all year.
Now almost 100 pounds lighter, sleep amazing, don’t have to take anxiety meds anymore, back in college (I’m 43). having all positive relationships and never wondering what I did or said while drunk- life is amazing. Making black frosting was a bitch and I have never really decorated a square cake so it’s not perfect but it tastes like the best cake I ever had.

Congratulations on your Soberversary! A year is huge! It’s funny, when I met my BF he was already 9 years sober so I wouldn’t drink around him, and quit myself shortly thereafter. Everything just gets easier!
