It’s from one of my favorite taco stand, i asked the guys what kind it was but they said they didn’t make it so they don’t know. It had a smoky flavor but still had a deep spicy flavor, not too spicy a good rating spicy.

It’s definitely some kind of charred salsa. Probably something like tomato/tomatillo, onion, garlic, then dried chilies like guajillo or California. The smaller seeds makes me think there may be a few arbol as well.

Wonder if it could be a Salsa de Chile Pasilla, only guessing because I just made it the other day lol

Ummm yea it’s charred but we would be literally guessing in the most literal sense of the word about the ingredients. But whatever the ingredients are, they’re charred.

Smokey flavor makes me think there might be some chipotle in adobo sauce in there

Try making a fresh salsa 4 Roma tomatoes, 1/2 white onion, 2 cloves of garlic and boil. Find dried smoked chiles, toast and then soak with other ingredients. Separate from water and blend together. Add salt, cilantro, black pepper, chicken powder, and maggi. I like 8 Arbols & 4 Moritas or 4 Casabels & 6 smoked Serranos.

Try searching up various Salsa Tatemada recipes, those can be very dark and smokey, nearly black sometimes.

At first sight i thought it was tlaquepaque salsa, but i noticed the burnt skins and the tomatillo seeds.
