  1. I add golden raisins and melted munster cheese sprinkling dill on the open face tuna melt. It adds a touch of sweet and savory. Try it.

  2. When I open a can of tuna, I open the entire lid, then hold the can over the sink, and PRESS the lid into the tuna can, forcing all the moisture out (no bowl or strainer to clean).

  3. One key change. The owner of a deli known for its tuna melts told me a crucial step for a great sandwich. Don't just drain the tuna. RINSE the tuna. Same technique, but run cold water over while mixing in the strainer. THEN press out moisture. Removes all fishy and bitter taste.

  4. Tuna just doesn't taste the same anymore. I was curious so I dried it out and I made it catch on fire๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  5. Tip for people who hate strong onion…put chopped onion in a bowl of vinegar. Wash it around, then drain well. It will mellow the onion.

  6. Do you have canned tuna and bread and cream cheese and mustard and mayonaisse and pickles and shallots and parsley and a lemon at home? Just kidding – Looks great.

  7. I am not a huge Sea Food Fan but a properly prepared Tuna Salad / Melt EXACTLY like this I will always eat!

  8. you could never go wrong with a tuna melt. I like this simple recipe. Also good with ham and cheese inside as a Monte Cristo, and then a side of raspberry preserves. Yum Yum.
