I accidentally posted this to r/baking originally and they removed it
First time making caramelized onions in a crockpot. Added garlic for happyyumyum

I haven’t tried this method yet, but please update with the results. It sounds like a great setup, mate
Well those don’t look very caramelized. You might want to check to see if your crock pot is broken (particularly if you waited the full 12 hours and they still look like this.) and perhaps get a new one. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news :/
Following for an update
Looks like fresh onion and garlic to me
How did it turn out? I’m so curious about the garlic
Are the the caramelized onions in the room with us ?
Gonna need the “after” pic.
You’re going to have some caramelized onions with some massively overcooked garlic that will make the whole thing taste bitter and gross
Not meaning to be rude, but if you already started with a “recipe” then it’s a bit late to pose this question. Maybe posting “I did this, here’s how it turned out. What do you think?” is more appropriate.
I’m not sure why you posted this on r/baking since it’s not baking. You also didn’t mention how much garlic, so you measured *some* ingredients, but it’s not really a recipe.
It’s onion though, so I bet it’s delicious.
Made my entire house smell for a couple of days. It was a very strong smell and TBH, not great. Onions are my favorite food BTW.
Can it get any better than this? I don’t think so.
Gonna turn the garlic blue
