My question is how long is the shelf life? Because if it’s not that long, I’d just not bother with dehydration and eat the onions

I’ve dehydrated onion in a cheap, but made for, dehydrator and I’ll swear by the difference in flavor/intensity until the day I die. You don’t even need to caramelize, what you’re getting at the store might as well not be onion with the difference in flavor/intensity.

The noise he made when his food fell into the flames lol. I could feel it in my soul

It’s called crack, what? You’ve never heard of crack before?

You can also dehydrate in a fan oven, 40-50 degrees Celsius, keeping the door slightly ajar.

I want that foldable dehydrator. I had a dehydrator once and it was big as shit

I mean, I guess I can see the appeal as an experiment. But if I want onions as a garnish I’ll use the packaged dry ones or actual onions. There is not a single thing I can think of where I want powdered onions on food.

Have we tried toasting onion powder yet? I don’t think I have the space/money/purposes to justify a dehydrator for a while
Freeze dryer works better.
Wait yall no one commented this yet. Dehydrated caramelized onions do exist! Ive been using this for 20 years! Or is this not it???
