ST PAUL, Minn. — Last December, Italian cooking was awarded special cultural heritage status by the United Nations’ cultural agency UNESCO. Italian cuisine, from pizza and pasta to wine and tiramisu, will be inscribed on the coveted list of “intangible cultural heritage”.

Cooks of Crocus Hill co-owner Karl Benson joined KARE 11 Saturday to explain the honor, offer tips to spot authentic products and share traditional food from Italy.
