I’ll test it out and get back to you all. Making soup today.

  2. This is complete nonsense. A wet paper towel will have an insignificant effect on air flow.

I heard this once so I’ve tried it a couple times and I can confidently say it does nothing lol

Doesn’t work that well for me; same with chewing gum, not getting emotionally attached, wearing safety goggles, or breathing through your mouth. What did work for me was is refrigerating or quickly freezing your onions before cutting.

Just get your knife really sharp and dont remove the roots if youre dicing/minding

  6. Hold a piece of bread in your mouth when slicing onions🤷🏻‍♂️

I thought it was an enzyme in the union

I cry when I cut my onions because I know I’m about to be down one onion, it’s bittersweet.

My wife has a small rechargeable fan that I’ve set up near the cutting board while chopping onions. Works great.

I weep for the fallen soldier being sacrificed, not some chemical reaction.

I just wear ski goggles when I chop onions

Y’all really be crying while you chop onions?

What does work for me is – breathing through mouth. With that said – keeping the nose entirely closed during chopping. I don’t know the science behind it, works for my grandma, worked for my mom, and works for me. Don’t know if it will work for anyone else or not, but you can try… if it works it will save you countless hours of tears during your lifetime, haha!

you cry when cutting onions because of a sulfuric reaction. i cry when i cut onions because i gave it a sad backstory where it had to sacrifice its life to save its sons. we are not the same

  16. Good ventilation and a fan blowing away from my eyes tends to do the trick

Just wear contacts. They are like shields. I don’t know what you do if you’re not basically blind like me but I haven’t felt the onion tear up thing in decades.

I was waiting for him to touch his eyes in the end

I’ll be honest I found some Onion Goggles in a thrift store and they keep me from sobbing and sniffling while cutting onions. I was like, this shit is a gimmick and doesnt work… so long as they fit your head, they do really help. Reviews online said they run very small and dont fit on many people but I guess I have a small head so they are snug around my eyes. Wear some cheap plastic goggles from the hardware store, it’ll probably work too

I would love a more detailed explanation from this guy of how he thinks this works
