The video for this was posted a couple of times here and I'd seen it myself on social media. Holy cow was this incredible and my guests loved it!

Package of frozen pearl onions

1 stick of butter

1/2 tablespoon paprika

1/2 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 tablespoon garlic powder

1/2 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning

1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

1/2 tablespoon Old Bay (i didnt have any so I doubled the Cajun. Would be incredible with Old Bay. Still incredible with double the Cajun)

Melt the butter and mix in seasonings. Pour over the onions in oven safe dish. I took the advice to put parchment paper and tin foil over before baking for an hour at 350 Fahrenheit for an hour. Then baked at 400 for 20 minutes uncovered.

I served with balsamic chicken theighs and salad with Italian dressing.

I think im going to dump this directly in Fettuccine Alfredo next time though.

Nice ketchup is also an option (union ketchup)

I keep saying I’m gonna make this. Adding pearl onions to the shopping list.

  3. Mmm, yummy! I immediately imagined this was an onion confit before reading the post, but this sounds so goood 🤤 I’ll have to try it at a smaller scale.

If youre going the pasta rout. I would also making a mornay sauce out of brie cheese(minus the wax). It carmelized onions and brie make an excellent pairing imo

Any advice on doing this with “fresh” pearl onions ? I bought a bunch (overpowered by desire for this dish , by lack of frozen ones) but can’t find the courage to peel them all??

  7. Yum, thanks for sharing! As a Marylander I’m always looking for uses for Old Bay to tempt family to eat more variety of foods.
