Why? How? Is their bread slicer okay?

  1. If i was a betting man id say this loaf got pinched

  2. More than half the loaves of bread I’ve gotten from the grocery store have had cut issues in the last two years. The worst is San Franciscan sourdough which will be straight up zig zag. Runner up is Dave’s killer bread for some slices being very thick and others really thin.

I’ve also been encountering monthly issues with loaves being over or under proofed, super holey, over cooked, and undercooked.

I really need to just make my own bread

If you don’t use this for cold cuts I’ll never forgive you

do they double bake bread and slice it in between for some reason? that’s all I can think of because how else could you deform the cuts unless it wasn’t done baking yet?

I work at a bakery and every once in a while a loaf will come out of our slicer like this. It gets squashed sideways so the two edges stick out further than the middle, then when it gets pushed through the blades it gets a super wonky cut like this one.
