My Joule detached near where the cord enters the body. I tried to Krazy glue it back together, but it didn’t stay. Any recommendations for reattaching it?

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

Go for an industrial strength 2 part epoxy. Most other adhesives will fail due to temperature.

  3. Mine did that a few years ago, I just kept it like that. Works fine.

I did the epoxy thing, the liquid nails commercial adhesive thing, and the silicone
Sealant thing. None of them lasted
More than one cook. Finally, I just left it hanging and it’s worked fine for 2 years. Probably overdue for an updated version soon (mine is a Chef Steps
Preorder gen 1) but it still works like a champ.

A single white zip tie. Been using it for 2 years

Most super glues don’t bond with plastic. Try loctite.

If you epoxy it, make sure you give both surfaces a light sand – epoxy doesn’t stay attached to smooth surfaces very well.
