Based on “A Treasury of Great Recipes” by, Mary & Vincent Price. Risotto alla Milanese recipe discovered at the Royal Danieli Rooftop Terrace, of the Hotel Danieli Royal Excelsior,
Venice, Italy.

In 1965, Mary and Vincent Price had published a collection of recipes that they enjoyed in restaurants as part of their travels.

Although the risotto recipe being shown here is of Milan, the Prices had a taste of it at a luxurious hotel in Venice. Price credits the butter and chicken stock for the rich taste, while the saffron gives the risotto its golden appearance. However, Price added that white wine is a good substitute for the chicken stock, albeit the chef at the Royal Danieli insisted they be careful not letting the rice become too dry.

Talking about taste, a woman once pointed at one of the artworks that Vincent Price collected, and remarked, “What on earth do you call that?”

Vincent replied, “We call it, ‘We Like It’”. Vincent even wrote a book on art called “I Like What I Know”, which if there is an awesome title for a book on modern art critique, it is that.
