I’ve been wanting to make yeasted donuts for some time and finally tried it for the first time tonight! They were delicious! I used Alton Brown’s recipe but reduced the nutmeg and added Cinnamon!

Looks better than tims
Delectable!
These look great. I was just saying last night to my daughter how Alton Brown’s recipes always disappoint me, but I’ll have to give these a try. Maybe he can redeem himself.
🤤🤤🤤
They look good! How did they come out texture wise?
STUNNING
They look delicious! Did you bake them or fry?
How did they taste?? They look so yummy
🤤
LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED HELP EATING THEM!
They look so good! Alton would be so proud.
Yum 😋
Pro tip from burning a few batches: keep your oil at exactly 350F with a thermometer, not eyeballing it. Temperature swings kill the texture faster than anything else. Also, don’t flip until the bottom is golden (about 90 seconds), then just 60 seconds on side two. That timing difference between first and second side is everything.
They look awesome. But why does every homemade donut recipe have nutmeg? I’ve even looked for copy cat recipes for Krispy Kreme and Dunkin, but they all have nutmeg. I don’t hate nutmeg, but would like a good recipe without it.
I owe a lot to Alton Brown. They look great!
Let’s be friends 🧡
