There may be a foot of snow still on the ground…but the snow is melting faster in my raised beds. And what do I see? Carrots! From seeds I tossed out there early last fall just to see what they did.
We had such a cold winter here, with temps / wind chills down to -30. Then a 3' snow pack. I'm so surprised they're still trucking along! Life…finds a way.
(Sorry for the blurry pic. I had to zoom a lot from the stairs because I wasn't ready to trek through the snow in my slippers)

Carrots grown in the cold are sweeter. You’ll have great carrots 🥕.
