Lady and I decided to hit our local Texas Roadhouse before a gig last night and we were thrilled with our decision.
20oz bone-in Ribeye
16oz Strip
and of course…ribs as an app, sweet potatoes smothered in marshmallowy goodness, steak fries a plenty and some goddamn delicious sweet bread.
All of this came to under $100 with tip.
Beef on!

Looks great except that sweet potato. People love their sugar lol.
Legendary.
Their Ribeye is good AF
I think this subreddit keeps getting back to the same conclusion: TRH is the best priced national chain steakhouse in the US.
You get excellent steak for the most reasonable price. Any other steak you get might be 10% better but cost twice as much.
Husband and I went there with my mother last week after seeing a few posts here of people enjoying it. It was wonderful. Total was $115 and it was a lot of very nice food. We all had leftovers and they gave us more bread to take home. All 3 steaks were cooked just as ordered.
ETA we ate the bread and the rest of the steaks, sliced and warmed in butter, with eggs over easy for brunch the next day, so we basically got two good meals.
Are those marshmallows on a baked potato?
I’ve never had a bad steak there. Plenty of average ones but never bad and sometimes pretty great. They have consistency dialed in so the temp is usually very close to what you ordered. Other budget steakhouses are a total crapshoot for how your steak turns out.
TRH is awesome. But the only time I tried their ribs, they were overcooked and not near as good as the hype. Is this normal or they just have a bad night?
Recently found out you can get blue cheese melted on top. What a great day that was.
I never order steak at restaurants so I’ve never tried their actual steak but I love that ridiculously huge chicken fried steak they sell. It comes on a regular sized hamburger bun which just looks hilarious to me. It’s dope though because you most of it with a fork and knife while you’re in the restaurant and you save the middle so you can have a little fried steak sammich later.
‘…. Yeah, and I would like a creamed potato thanks’

I’ll never get over Americans and their marshmallows on their potatoes lol
Yeah yeah the steaks are ok but Where are the ROLLS!?!?!
I ate 11 rolls at one early dinner there. My sons were cheering me on to hit a dozen but my wife, completely embarrassed, asked the waitress to stop bringing them. She said “stop it, you still have to eat your steak!” I showed her and ate my steak a sides like a champ and then laid down unable to move when we got home for several hours.
I was one roll away from greatness…
Easily the best chain steakhouse and reasonably priced.
People like to shit on TRH but me and my my wife can go there and have an excellent steak dinner for about $45, or I can go to a ‘nice’ steak house and get almost an identical steak in quality but I’ll drop $120+ for the dinner.
How much?
Legendary food, legendary service. 🤠
TRH near me just sucks. Horrid wait times and they just never seem to get it right. Last visit my strip was medium well on one side and blue on the other because they cut it uneven. Out of my last half dozen visits or so, I was only “pleased” one time with the cook. For what it’s worth, give me a choice or prime cut from Walmart and I can cook it at home with much better results.
My unpopular opinion is TRH stinks.
Prime rib always delish
I’ve spent a lot more money and gotten a worse steak than I’ve gotten there.
OP those pics don’t mean anything without a shot of the cross section.
wtf is that? A potato with marshmallows?
I love to get mine smothered with sautéed onions
Its really not bad. Their sides can be a little hit or miss but they’ve got their steaks mostly dialed in and thats what counts.
I had an 11 oz sirloin, cooked a perfect medium rare, with two sides (plus rolls/butter/peanuts) for $19.99 a few days ago. Was delish and I had to take it home to be dinner the next night. Great service, great food, great prices. I love me some MF’in Texas Roadhouse!
Sirloin is $14 a lb at Sam’s Club near me for reference. All I can say is…fuck yeah! TR for the win. If I was a single man I’d probably just eat at TR every night, $762.5 for food per month ($25 a dinner * 30.5 days a month) and have coffee for brekkist and a beer for lunch. Lmao. Wouldn’t be a bad way to live!!!

Only thing I dislike is the use of griddle/grill racks. I would prefer a uniform crust not dark marks on a steak. Haven’t eaten at a TRH in forever
A truly underrated king.
is it me or is there no cap on that ribeye?
