Seven wine producers from northern Greece showcased their labels at the international trade fair Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2026, marking a strong debut for the Region of Central Macedonia at one of the world’s fastest-growing gatherings for the wine and spirits industry.

Held in Paris and organised by Vinexposium, the seventh edition of the event drew 6,537 exhibitors from 63 countries and 63,541 professional visitors from 140 countries, according to provisional figures. Attendance rose sharply compared with 2025, with exhibitors up 24% and visitors up 21%, underlining the fair’s increasing importance as a global meeting point for the sector.

Seven Greek companies representing Central Macedonia’s wine industry presented regional labels to international buyers, importers and trade representatives. Their participation generated significant interest and helped strengthen the export outlook and international visibility of the region’s vineyards.

The exhibition also carried high political and commercial visibility, with the opening attended by Emmanuel Macron. In parallel, Greece’s economic and commercial affairs office organised a special promotional event dedicated to Greek wines, further boosting recognition of Greek labels in the French market.

Branislav “Bane” Prelevic, Central Macedonia’s deputy governor for extroversion, stated that the participation in Wine Paris 2026 “confirms our steady commitment to strengthening the extroversion and international competitiveness of local businesses.” He added that the successful debut “opens new paths for strategic partnerships and new markets” while reinforcing Greece’s global footprint in the vineyard sector.
