
hey everyone! i’m from melbourne australia, and i’ve been working on this type of machine for about a month or so now. almost everything is automatic. i don’t weigh any coffee, tamp, nada. all in the machine. same with milk, apart from alternatives. i can just press a button and hot, textured full cream or skinny will dispense. for alternative milks, there are steam wands, which are thicker than usual. they stop once the milk reaches temperature.
my issue is, at this new location, with this brand new machine, when i steam any milk with this steam wand, it expands soooo much. i know how to steam properly, i’ve been a barista for 4 years, and it’s pmo!!! at the previous location, same machine, i didn’t quite have this problem.
my boss has been contacting the company for help, though everything they’ve done, hasn’t changed the milk being so fluffy.
any idea what the issue is? yes i purge, always before and after, and i aerate it for a couple of seconds before submerging the tip. its a bit hard to get a vortex going with the steam wand being so thick, but either way, the milk rises so much, especially if i do it xtra hot ;-; pls help, its so hard to do an extra hot almond flat white
we have a dude coming in to check it out next week so hopefully he’ll sort it out, but i thought i may as well come here asking for advice <3 thanks guys!
