Bought this to try when making hummus but the result is too sweet and off-putting. Any ideas on how to mitigate this?

    If you leave it out by the flower garden, the bees will take the honey back out of it for you.

  2. Little vinegar may help offset the sweet. Rice vinegar or white vinegar perhaps would help.

    Not sure you can cover it for hummus but you could use it on toast etc like peanut butter.

    Sounds like it might make for a nice cake or be good in smoothies maybe? I can’t think of many savoury applications for this unfortunately, sweet hummus doesn’t sound appealing.

    I would abandon the hummus idea and go more for a salad dressing with vinegar/lemon and spices and herbs. Or make a dessert with it. Or just eat it as a spread.

    Oh wow! I’ve never seen sweet tahini! I’m assuming this is probably used to make desserts. As much as it pains me to say but I think your hummus is ruined 😢. Try buying the original tahini (not sweet labeled) and you’ll get it right, I premise!

    This is a salad dressing that I like that miiiight match the ratio of what you already have for tahini and honey?

    * 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

    * 2 tablespoons dijon mustard

    * 1 tablespoon stone ground mustard

    * 3 tablespoons honey

    * 2 tablespoons tahini

    * 2 tablespoons lemon juice

    * 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

    * (Shake vigorously) …

  8. I like 90% of this brand’s food, but sometimes they miss the mark. Love Lidl, tho!

    Cookies. I work at a bakery and we make tahini miso cookies that are very popular.

    I think you need plain tahini for hummus, but you can use this for dressing probably.

    Kroger brand makes has their store brand Fresh Cravings Honey Jalapeño Hummus https://www.kroger.com/p/fresh-cravings-honey-jalapeno-hummus/0085413500821 that I got by mistake one day in an order. It sounded really weird but TBH it tasted really good. A sweet heat dip.

    Check out the ingredients list of the above hummus. Perhaps it has ratios and ingredients you might copy.

    If yours turned out too sweet and you don’t like spicy try adding more chickpeas and lemon juice or other savory ingredients. To borrow my chemistry professors saying. The solution to pollution is dilution.

    Use it as breadspread and buy regular Tahini. Unless you can’t have carbs. Then give it away or toss it.

    Make a Tahini shake and add dates. Sprinkle with halava. You’re welcome

    The tahini with honey is a condiment in itself but not meant to be used in hummus.

  15. MuscaMurum

    This is just a shortcut on the way to salad dressing, not hummus.

    hot honey hummus? chocolate hummus? peanut butter hummus? pumpkin spice hummus? balance the sweetness with some tang from yogurt?

  17. Broad_Gap5375

    This has %20 honey. Its not meant to be used in savory dishes. Use it as a sweet dip, pancake or chocolate hummus or drizzle on fruits. Or make a sandwich instead of peanut butter and jam.

    Use it in salad dressing. Add some EVOO and lemon juice, herbs and whatever else fits your fancy.

    You don’t, I would make cookies and other baked goods! Salad dressings, sauces where you only need a smaller amount etc

  20. BBQBiryani

    You can use that to bake cookies, look up recipes for tahini chocolate chip cookies. As for the hummus, you’re going to need regular tahini.

  21. prettymuthafucka

    Mix in some regular tahini with it to balance it or some chili crisp

    This is great on toast. I also like to mix regular tahini with date molasses, it’s very tasty!
