First time buying steaks at Walmart and won't the last. Damn good quality for a reasonable price. 130 for an hour and a damn good sear, hell of a meal.

No opinion on Walmart steaks. They actually look good tho. I’ve never seen prime in my Walmart. Jack the temp to 137. Thank me later.

Little know fact about Walmart meat, it’s sourced from the customers that try to leave the store without showing their receipt…

This looks perfect. Literally perfected

In my area, I see the same boxes of beef going into Walmart that I use at my restaurant. I don’t why anyone would think it’s a substandard product just because it’s from Walmart.

I always forget most people can get actual steaks from Walmart. All of the Walmarts in my area don’t have fresh food. Only steaks available there are like 1/4 inch thick, and frozen

Great steak, but I’m already mentally preparing for the gas blowback issues later. Rich red meat like this always seems to build up pressure in the system and then release it all at once. Worth it, though.

There’s nothing wrong with them for the most part tbh

Last time I had a Walmart steak the texture was like tuna. Between that, and their horrible business practices, never again. Yours do look good though

This is prime; I’d buy prime from WalMart but not choice.

Save A Lot has some of the best meat deals around.

Prime is Prime. It’s the USDA that makes that determination, not WalMart

I don’t buy grocery store steaks because they are cut too thin.
Costco seems to cut everything at about 1.5 inches. I go there or my butcher.

I make good money but I just can’t bring myself to buy ribeye anymore at those prices. I would rather buy some great picanha at $5/lb and put the rest of the money on my boat or motorcycle or something

I bought a Prime tenderloin at Walmart once, was curious, it was 3” thick and very good. Pleasantly surprised.

These were AMAZING about a year ago. Price always stayed the same which was a little high but the quality of their prime was top notch. I still check them every time I go, just been having picahna for steak nights. These pictured here actually look like the best batch I’ve seen in awhile.

FYI – Prime Ribeyes at Costco are $20/lbs

The marbling doesn’t look like it’s at the top end of prime but you’re probably paying way less than you would for prime from most places. At the end of the day it’s gonna be better than most grocery stores and their select or choice
Jayminc12321
Probably need more like 90-120 minutes for safety at that temp and thickness but looks tasty

People love to hate on Walmart. The WM in my town has better produce than all of the other grocery stores. I only shop there 2-3 times a year because it’s not convenient from my location. But when I do I’m surprised at how fresh everything is.

Looked today for steaks and they looked like they were butchered on a highway.

looks delicious, well done!
