Hi everyone! I made this chocolate cake with coconut filling to bring when visiting some friends.

In Brazil, this combination is called “Prestígio” (which means “prestige” in English) and it’s considered a classic dessert. If you’re a coconut lover, this one is definitely for you 🥥🍫

It’s a very moist chocolate cake, soaked with a light cocoa syrup, filled with a creamy coconut filling, and finished with a simple chocolate ganache.

Cake batter
6 eggs
300 g milk (10.6 oz)
180 g vegetable oil (6.3 oz)
300 g sugar (10.6 oz)
80 g cocoa powder (2.8 oz)
300 g all-purpose flour (10.6 oz)
15 g baking powder (0.5 oz)
3 g baking soda (0.1 oz)

Syrup (to soak the cake)
250 g water (8.8 oz)
100 g sugar (3.5 oz)
20 g cocoa powder (0.7 oz)

Coconut filling
2 cans sweetened condensed milk (790 g total / 27.9 oz)
200 g heavy cream (7 oz)
200 g coconut milk (7 oz)
30 g butter (1.1 oz)
300 g shredded coconut (10.6 oz)

Chocolate ganache topping
250 g semisweet chocolate (8.8 oz)
175 g heavy cream (6.2 oz)
15 g unsalted butter (0.5 oz)

Hope you like it as much as my friends did!

Looks absolutely delicious well done 👏

  6. Whoa, now that’s some actual coconut. It’s so rare to find more than a few flakes on top and/or only a hint of flavoring. I found one shop, whose main sell is actually macarons and gelato, that happens to have a coconut pound cake with plenty of flakes mixed in so I end up getting a slice most times I walk by.
