New-ish to the tinned fish world. These are the first sardines I've come across that I would eat all by themselves. Someone on this sub called them "fish bacon" so, when I saw these on the market shelf yesterday, I had to grab a jar. And I'm so happy I did!
Pleasantly smokey.
Firm but falls apart in your mouth (in a nice way, not a mushy way).
Great price! I paid 6.25 USD and the jar says it contains 3.5 servings.

I particularly like how the sprats in jars usually have their sharp tails cut off. And they seem to be prettier too.
They sell these in Costco and I been hoping they go on sale at some point.
Any opinions on how long they keep once opened? Or should it just all go at once like a can would?
I’m pretty sure nobody on this sub gets 3.5 servings out of that! Those are very good, I agree.
Where did you get them and would recommend this brand?
Do they have spines? I am trying soooo hard to make myself branch out beyond boneless, but the tin I got from Trader Joe’s had what I think was blood (not sure- too grossed out to investigate) and shockingly large spines. Neat for science, but as a pescatarian- I was reconsidering returning to vegetarianism.
These look so good. I love this brand and this style but I’ve never found them in a jar in my area. I’ll keep an eye on Costco but so far no sightings 😭
For my money those are the best inexpensive sardines available.
Polar are the goat deens and kippers
The smokiest of them all one of my favorites!
I haven’t seen them in 10+ years but Polar anchovies were not too salted nice white ones. Super delicious.
It was a surprise to me that my Grocery Outlet carries the under the radar Riga Gold Fried Brisling sardines in Tomato Sauce round 8.5oz tins for only $2.99.
