Hey sub, yesterday was my first time making chese burgers on the grill, they were great and my family seconded that 🤪
I just wanted to share it with you guys, the community.
I added also jam to the burgers when they were on the grill, and the potatoes were just preheated in the oven.
If you guys have some tips or recommendations to make the even better, I'll be glad to read you, guys 🙌
Have a great Sunday 👋

Don’t use pre-made patties from a box.
And you should wait until the patties are almost done before you start toasting the buns.
Yeah tip #1 is buy some fresh meat…
Congrats. You are on your way. 1 tip is to have a hot and a cold zone in case you get flare ups. You can move it over temporarily.
Jam, that is a nice touch. Did you warm the jam or caramelize it?
Good for you, not enough people are capable of cooking over charcoal.
Ok, now try real fresh beef that you pattied yourself.
You need to season the meat even if it is premade. Salt and pepper is fine. Also, let the fat drip and flare up some. They can take it. Just need to move them around after a few seconds of direct flame. I like to use a 2 zone cooking area. Stack coals on one side and have an indirect area you can move the meat to if the flare ups are too much. Avoid the first flip until the meat starts sweating on the top. That way you avoid sticking and also get a good char.
Jesus , man.
Lotta folks gonna shit talk you here OP, but I’m gonna say that your finished product looks actually really good.
That said, burgers ain’t BBQ
Looks good, and respect for the fries.
Oh
This is not parody
Are the burgers in the room with us?
Why’s it look like potted meat formed in a patty?
that meat doesn’t look good Man. ! let us know how it taste!
Is the burger in the room with us?
Pack your own patty, mate.
Yikes
Jam? On a burger? But why??
Those patties look terrible; like Spam.
First pic I was like ehhhh but second pic looks very tasty. Would smash
I find the end result looks good, I had some delicious frozen angus beef burgers this summer and I couldn’t tell the difference from homemade.
Seems like this should be in r/grilling
Rage bait. Looks like the McDonald’s CEOs setup.
Don’t ever throw processed frozen pattys on the grill again. Just use fresh meat, my grocery store sells pre made burger patties made from fresh meat all the time, maybe check if yours offers that too
Hey man congrats on the burgers. Keep it up. You’ll get better and better each time you do it! Great job for the first time though!
I swear I see a slice of lunch meat ham on pic 2
Buns are in a little early.
Those patties look like very thick slices of bologna.
Welp, not a ton of help for you from most of the comments here. I’ll give you some cool shit to try though, cause I’m kind of a cool guy, and have been a butcher for longer than I can remember.
You can go to Costco, buy a tube of 85% ground beef and make your own really epic burgers, freeze em, and package them in as many patties as you want. You’re going to need some spices…. Granulated Garlic, Toasted Onions, Salt and Pepper. This is a good starting base. Don’t put any bread crumbs or binder, just use more salt, the salt will bind the meat.
You’ll figure out the ratios using the trial by error method, you’ll also start adding cool spices to make your very own signature burger.
When your mixing the spices and ground beef mix it really well, if you have a stand mixer, use it, add a little bit of water at a time on a low speed, you’ll see the magic start to happen when the walls of the bowl get sticky, mix it a bit more and let rest in the fridge for a bit.
Make your burgers, make em as big or as small as you want. If you have extra burger meat, make extra burgers, put wax or parchment paper between each burger and freeze in a ziplock.
On your grill, set up a two zone cooking area, this means flame on one side and and no flame on the other, put your burgers on the side with no flame and bring the temperature up to about 150* f, then move the burgers over the fire, let the flames set some char on the outside of the burgers, flip them periodically to get an even char. When you take the burgers off the grill, let em sit around on the plate , or rest for a while, the juice will set inside the burgers and make them really tender.
Put em on a bun, add bacon, cheese, whatever your heat desires and enjoy. Cooking, Grilling, BBQ is a journey, enjoy it, experiment and keep
good notes. And don’t buy discs of meat at the chain stores for burgers, they’re filled with garbage so they keep their weight and shape, and are made with the shit on the cutting room floor.
Frozen patties 💀
Those are not hamburgers, those are hokey pucks.
Take a look at the comment history. It’s a bot or fishing for karma for future use as a shill account. Don’t engage
Damn… but some real meat next time.
God help us all.
Tip #7 (after all these other tips) cook fresh ground venison you harvest and process yourself with a 13-17% pork fat content instead of any beef, and do it on a traeger at 350. Thank me later.
Awesome . If you have a stater bros nearby, they have awesome in house made patties
Lots of people jumping on the frozen patty train. I am all for frozen patties because they’re convenient af. My advice would be to add a little bit of seasoning while they’re on the grill to add a little extra depth of flavor. I usually go simple and mix kosher salt, ground pepper, granulated garlic, and onion powder. I’ll sprinkle a little of that rub when I first put it on, and when I flip the burgers.
Enjoy!
I like using the ball park burger patties. They’re precooked and everything. You just gotta heat em up. Ya… im lazy.
Where’s the beef?
Not bad kid 👌
