Another Filipino developed a platform that can help the public track not just the cheapest fuel prices but also cooking gas prices.
Kat Adrias, who dabbles in tech, shared that she created GasWatch PH, a website that allows motorists to find the cheapest petroleum products in the National Capital Region.
Prices per liter for oil firms such as Shell, Petron, Caltex, Seaoil, Jetti, Flying V, and Total are listed, with color-coding used for easier price tracking.
Figures in green indicated the “Best Deal” or the lowest prices, while figures in yellow show the “Average” or typical price. Figures in red, represent “Expensive” or higher than usual ranges.
The platform includes data from about 1,088 gas stations in Metro Manila.
Adrias said that users can filter their search for cheap fuel “by area, fuel type and brand.”
Motorists can also report prices from their local gas station to help other drivers.
“Still a work in progress. The more Filipinos report prices in their area, the better it gets for everyone,” she said in a Facebook post.
Adrias said the data, besides being a community-driven effort, also comes from the Department of Energy’s weekly advisories.
“Gas is expensive. The least I can do is help you find the cheapest one near you,” she wrote.
The platform also tracks the prices of major cooking gas brands, depending on cylinder size (11 kilograms, 22 kg and 50 kg).
These include Petron’s Gasul, Shell’s LPG, and Solane, among others.
Apart from petroleum prices, the platform keeps motorists updated on the latest fuel developments via a banner at the top of the webpage, including alerts on price hikes.
Another developer, Alexander Miguel Sy, has also created a fuel price tracker that compares petroleum prices in the National Capital Region and the Greater Manila Area (Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan).

Both initiatives were developed amid the ongoing fuel crisis, which has affected global markets following the conflict in the Middle East, disrupting the shipment of oil supplies across regions.
The disruption has driven petroleum prices higher worldwide, making fuel more expensive than before.
The conflict involves the United States and Israel conducting military actions against Iran, which has already closed a major waterway used for oil shipments.
