    Burgundy fest 2026.

Frankly- i find it challenging to drink wines of this caliber close together. Hard to focus on every single one. In my opinion.

That being said- certainly some of the best wine I’ve ever had.

    Highlights-

Paul Pernot Batard- magnificent. I love Paul Pernot wines. Getting a chance to drink this is a story in itself. May be the best white I’ve ever had. Masterfully made.

‘12 Grands Echezeaux and Amoureuses were a ton of fun to drink side by side. Both really representing their styles in a phenomenal way.

‘89 Musigny was over the hill. Still fun to taste and enjoy.

‘04 Mugnier may be the best wine I’ve ever tasted. Funky nose- tobacco and charred barrel. Very little fruit. The palate was incredible. Cranberry and tobacco. Effortless throughout. Incredible doesn’t quite cover it.

‘95 La Romanee- lots of funk of the nose. Fruit still there on the palate but fading into secondary and tertiary flavors. Cool to finally taste from this vineyard.

Some great vinyards! What vintage was the d’Angerville Clos des Ducs? The angle makes it tough to read.

I agree that would be too overwhelming for me at one sitting, but it’d be fun.

Epic line up. I’d need hours to truly appreciate. I’ll tell family I’m going to be gone for a while, don’t bother calling.

  5. Glad to hear the Pernot was singing. Saw the pictures and immediately wanted to know your thoughts on this wine. One of my favorite producers as well.
