Two restaurants in the Moselle region, just across the French border from Luxembourg, have been awarded Michelin stars, bringing the region’s total to nine starred establishments.

The Alexis Baudin restaurant in Malling, and the Timilia restaurant in Metz under chef Olivier Parise, were honoured at the Michelin Guide France ceremony in Monaco on Monday.

They join seven previously starred Moselle restaurants in what Patrick Weiten, president of the Moselle department, called a confirmation of “the vitality and quality of the Moselle gastronomic scene.”

The awards follow a star given in 2024 to Le K at Domaine de la Klauss and one in 2025 to Yozora in Metz, the first Michelin-starred restaurant to be located inside a museum in France.

Alexis Baudin serves classic French cuisine. A six-course menu for €90 is served in the evening and on Saturday for lunch, also available as a vegetarian or vegan option. There’s also a nine-course menu for €130. Lunch during the week is available on Wednesday and Friday as a four-course menu for €65.

At Timilia, described by Michelin as creative Italian cuisine, there are various menus available, including a pasta-only option. Six-course evening menus are served for €89 (also available Friday and Satuday lunchtime). A four-course option for €52 is available on Fridays for lunch.

Moselle’s nine starred restaurants now include:

Le Toya in Faulquemont, whose chef Loïc Villemin also holds a Michelin Green Star for sustainability;

Chez Michèle in Languimberg, where chef Bruno Poiré is marking the restaurant’s 50th anniversary this month with a menu of his parents’ and his own signature dishes;

L’Arnsbourg in Baerenthal, where Fabien Mengus draws on the surrounding Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park;

Auberge Saint-Walfrid in Sarreguemines, where Stephan Schneider represents the fifth generation of a family kitchen;

Le Quai des Saveurs in Hagondange.

The ceremony also brought good news for Moselle chefs working beyond the region’s borders. Benoît Potdevin and Maximilian Troebs picked up a star for restaurant M at Chalet du Père Joseph in the Vosges.

On the more affordable end of the scale, Aux Trois Capitaines in Malroy was among the new Bib Gourmand recipients, joining Dimofski in Wœlfling-lès-Sarreguemines, which already held the distinction.
